Force Motors has unveiled its next-generation Traveller N range, marking a significant upgrade to one of India’s most established light commercial vehicle platforms. The new lineup, spanning ambulance, school bus, and delivery van applications, signals a full transition away from the current-generation Traveller, with all future production aligned to the upgraded platform.
The launch represents a strategic refresh aimed at enhancing comfort, performance, and operational efficiency, while lowering total cost of ownership for fleet operators.
Reinventing a segment leader
With over four decades of legacy, the Traveller has long been a dominant force in India’s shared mobility and institutional transport segments, commanding over 70% market share in its category. From emergency medical services to school transportation and last-mile logistics, the platform has evolved into a critical backbone of mobility infrastructure.
The new Traveller N range builds on this legacy with a clear focus: delivering a more refined, reliable, and user-centric experience.
Managing Director Prasan Firodia said the upgrade has been shaped by real-world feedback. “We’ve focused on what truly matters, inputs from owners, drivers, and passengers, to improve comfort, usability, reliability, and cost efficiency, while reducing downtime and enhancing fleet utilisation,” he noted.
A more premium, car-like experience
One of the most visible shifts in the Traveller N is the move toward a more contemporary, passenger-friendly cabin. The vehicle now features an all-new, car-like cockpit with a digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment system, bringing a level of sophistication rarely seen in this segment.
Ergonomically redesigned seating, improved noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels, and a new HVAC system further elevate in-cabin comfort, making it better suited for both long-distance travel and urban operations.
On the outside, the Traveller N adopts a refreshed design language, with a new front fascia, LED daytime running lights, turn indicators, and a redesigned rear profile, enhancing both visual appeal and functional efficiency.
Engineering for durability and efficiency
Under the skin, Force Motors has introduced significant engineering improvements aimed at strengthening structural integrity and build quality. A re-engineered sheet metal structure, coupled with a reduction in body joints, enhances durability while improving overall fit and finish.
The company has also integrated advanced manufacturing processes, including robotics and automated door hemming, drawing from learnings gained through its premium van platform, Urbania. These upgrades are expected to deliver better consistency, improved reliability, and reduced maintenance requirements.
Powering the new range is the proven FM 2.6 CR engine, compliant with BS-VI Stage 2 emission norms, offering a balance of performance and fuel efficiency critical for commercial operations.
Focus on uptime and fleet economics
Beyond product enhancements, Force Motors is positioning the Traveller N as a comprehensive mobility solution. The vehicle comes equipped with ‘Force Care’, a bundled aftersales package that includes extended warranty, parts coverage, roadside assistance, and accidental repair support.
In addition, the ‘iPulse’ connected technology suite enables real-time vehicle tracking and diagnostics, helping fleet operators optimise utilisation and reduce downtime.
Strengthening a multi-application platform
The Traveller N range will continue to cater to a wide spectrum of use cases, from ambulances and school buses to cargo delivery vans, reinforcing its versatility across both passenger and goods mobility.
Bookings for the new range are set to open across dealerships nationwide from mid-May 2026.
