Royal Enfiel, the global leader in the mid-size (250cc–750cc) motorcycle segment, is set to secure a land parcel for its proposed greenfield manufacturing facility in Tada (Tirupati), Andhra Pradesh. The company plans to invest close to ₹2,500 crore for the manufacturing expansion as the mid-size motorcycle maker moves to address rising demand and near-full capacity utilisation.
Capacity utilisation nears peak
Royal Enfield currently has an installed production capacity of around 14.6 lakh motorcycles annually, which the company said is nearing full utilisation.
Earlier in February 2026, the company announced a ₹958 crore investment for capacity expansion at its Cheyyar facility in Tamil Nadu, a move expected to take its overall manufacturing capacity to 20 lakh units annually.
Augmenting capacity
Eicher Motors Managing Director and Royal Enfield Chief Executive Officer B. Govindarajan said, “We currently operate four world-class manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu, with a total projected capacity of 2 million units annually. This investment in Andhra Pradesh will augment that capacity and provide the impetus for our next phase of growth.
“We are grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their support and partnership as we strengthen our presence in a state with immense potential. Having already established over 100 retail and service outlets and more than 1,200 direct and indirect employment opportunities, we are proud to contribute to its industrial and economic landscape.”
Global manufacturing footprint
As part of its long-term growth strategy, Royal Enfield continues to evaluate future manufacturing opportunities across markets.
The company currently operates four manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu and seven CKD units across Bangladesh, Nepal, Brazil, Thailand, Argentina and Colombia. It also has a retail footprint of more than 3,200 stores across India and over 80 countries globally.
Strengthening global brand presence
Royal Enfield operates two global technical centres located in Bruntingthorpe, UK, and Chennai, India.
In FY26, the company crossed 1.2 million motorcycle sales, marking its second consecutive year of delivering over one million units. Royal Enfield also ranked highest in two-wheeler initial quality in the 2025 J.D. Power India study and secured the top position in the FADA Dealer Satisfaction Survey.
Industry recognition
Further strengthening its global positioning, Royal Enfield was ranked third among the World’s Strongest Automobile Brands in the Brand Finance Automotive Industry 2026 report, underlining the growing international appeal of the Indian motorcycle brand.
