Ex-Unilever Executive Purnima Lamba Named Mahindra Group Brand Chief

Mahindra Group has appointed Purnima Lamba as its Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026, as the conglomerate looks to further strengthen its corporate brand and communications strategy amid its expanding global presence.

In her new role, Purnima will be responsible for shaping and stewarding the Group’s corporate brand narrative in line with Mahindra’s values, vision and long-term business ambitions. She will oversee brand consistency across Mahindra’s diverse business verticals and drive initiatives aimed at enhancing brand salience across both traditional and digital platforms.

Leadership focus on brand transformation
Mahindra Group CEO & MD Anish Shah said the company was pleased to welcome Purnima Lamba to the leadership team.

Brings over two decades of global experience
Purnima joins Mahindra after a nearly 25-year career at Unilever, where she held several senior leadership roles across India, the UK and the Netherlands.

During her tenure, she played a key role in driving business growth through strategic brand building, digital transformation and consumer-focused innovation. Her expertise spans tech-enabled beauty experiences, digital media models and global brand expansion initiatives.

Mahindra said her strong communication skills, strategic orientation and deep consumer understanding have consistently helped deliver measurable business impact across markets.

Academic and professional background
Purnima holds both BSc and MSc degrees in Management from London School of Economics and Political Science.
