Anupam Rasayan India Ltd., a custom synthesis and specialty chemicals company, has announced the commercialisation of Ethyl Trifluoroacetate (ETFA) production through its proprietary process-by-design continuous flow chemistry platform.
ETFA is a critical fluorinated building block and reagent used in the synthesis of a wide range of organic fluorine compounds. These compounds find applications across life sciences, pharmaceuticals and performance materials, where fluorine chemistry is used to enhance product performance, efficacy and stability.
The company said the global addressable market for ETFA is estimated at $500-600 million, underscoring its strategic importance in the specialty chemicals value chain.
Technology milestone
According to Anupam Rasayan, the achievement makes it the first company globally to manufacture ETFA at a commercial scale using continuous flow technology. Compared with conventional batch manufacturing processes, the flow chemistry platform offers advantages such as enhanced process safety, improved reproducibility, higher operational efficiency, better scalability and a lower environmental footprint.
The company said the commercialisation demonstrates its capabilities in developing and scaling complex fluorination chemistry solutions for global customers.
