Fischer Medical Ventures Gets CDSCO Nod For Spincare System

CW Bureau ·

Fischer Medical Ventures associate company Nanomedic Technologies Ltd of Israel has received regulatory clearance from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to import and distribute the Spincare Portable Wound Care System in India.

The approval marks a key regulatory milestone and positions Fischer Medical Ventures to tap India’s fast-growing advanced wound care market.

Advanced wound care

Spincare is a portable, hand-held wound care device that applies a breathable, transparent nanofibre film directly onto wounds at the point of care, eliminating the need for conventional dressings in many clinical situations.

Approved as a Class C medical device, the system is indicated for a wide range of applications, including partial and full-thickness wounds, burns, donor site wounds, surgical incisions, skin tears, dermatological lesions and chronic ulcers.

The device is intended for use by healthcare professionals in clinical settings and has a shelf life of five years.

Market opportunity

India’s wound care market is estimated at about $380 million in 2026 and is projected to grow to $1.8 billion by 2033, driven by rising diabetes cases, increasing surgical procedures and the expansion of home healthcare services.

Fischer Medical Ventures holds exclusive rights to distribute the Spincare system across India and Southeast Asia under its partnership with Nanomedic Technologies.

The Israeli company has also applied for approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with the clearance process currently underway.

Commercial rollout

“Receiving CDSCO clearance for Spincare is a transformative moment for Fischer Medical Ventures. This approval opens the door to deploying a genuinely differentiated wound care technology across Indian hospitals and burn centres. We see substantial whitespace in this market and are moving quickly to establish our commercial footprint,” said Fischer Medical Ventures Chairman & Managing Director Ravindran Govindan.
