Parag Milk Okays ₹105 Cr Investment To Double Cheese Capacity By FY28

CW Bureau ·

Parag Milk Foods Ltd (PMFL), a leading dairy FMCG company, has approved an investment of ₹105 crore to double its cheese manufacturing capacity to 120 tonnes per day by FY28, to be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt.

The expansion will strengthen PMFL’s position in India’s fast-growing value-added dairy segment. It forms part of the company’s strategy to meet rising demand for cheese and whey protein products while creating new growth opportunities.

Expansion to support growing demand

PMFL has built one of India’s largest cheese portfolios under its Go Cheese brand, which commands around 35% market share in the domestic cheese category.

Besides its strong retail presence across general trade, modern trade, e-commerce and quick commerce channels, the company is also a leading supplier to institutional customers, including hotels, restaurants and catering businesses.

Go Cheese Portfolio

The Go Cheese portfolio includes mozzarella, processed cheese, cheddar, cheese slices, spreads, cheese cubes, cheese sauces, cream cheese, pizza cheese and a range of speciality cheese products catering to both retail and food service segments.

Market outlook remains strong

According to IMARC Group, the Indian cheese market is projected to expand from ₹12,900 crore in 2025 to ₹62,000 crore by 2034, driven by rising urbanisation, changing food preferences and the rapid expansion of organised food service channels.

“Cheese is one of the key growth drivers for Parag Milk Foods and a strategic pillar of our value-added products portfolio,” said Rahul Kumar Srivastava, Chief Operating Officer.

Board approval

The Board approval marks another important step in the company’s phased roadmap of reaching 120 tonnes per day and reflects PMFL’s confidence in the long-term potential of the category.

“The additional capacity will enhance manufacturing efficiency, strengthen our ability to meet growing customer demand and support future product innovation,” he said.
