GMR Airports Ltd expects sustained growth across its airport and aviation-adjacent businesses, supported by long residual concession tenures and strong underlying demand.
The company will continue to pursue new airport concession opportunities while expanding its asset-light portfolio through operations and maintenance contracts and airport-adjacent businesses, with a focus on sustainable growth and financial discipline.
Airport platform to expand footprint
“We see a long runway of growth ahead for our portfolio, supported by long residual concession tenures and strong underlying demand fundamentals,” said GMR Group, Chairman, G.M. Rao said in a letter to shareholders.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to pursue new airport concession opportunities while also expanding our presence in asset-light portfolio focused on Operations & Maintenance contracts and airport adjacent businesses, enabling us to drive sustainable growth while maintaining financial discipline,” he said.
GMR Airports will also scale its platform businesses across duty-free, cargo, retail, food and beverage and other aviation-adjacent segments to new airports and geographies, leveraging its network, operational expertise and consumer reach.
Land development remains key pillar
Airport Land Development will remain a strategic pillar, with the company expanding its higher-value self-development portfolio.
“With several landmark projects under development across our airport ecosystems, we are confident that this business will emerge as an increasingly important driver of long-term value creation,” he said.
Aviation growth to create opportunities
GMR Airports, positioned as India’s largest airport developer and operator, is building a diversified global airport platform spanning gateway infrastructure, connectivity, duty-free, cargo, retail, hospitality, aviation services and airport-led development.
The company remains confident in the long-term prospects of Indian aviation, supported by rising incomes, expanding tourism, greater penetration of aviation infrastructure and government initiatives.
Large fleet expansion plans by Indian airlines and the emergence of an aircraft leasing ecosystem at GIFT City are expected to support industry competitiveness and sustained passenger traffic growth.
MRO offers further growth avenue
The expanding aviation ecosystem is also creating opportunities in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector, where GMR Airports plans to expand its presence over time.
The company said it is evolving beyond its role as an infrastructure provider by building an integrated, consumer-centric and technology-led platform across the broader aviation ecosystem.
