Saatvik Green Energy Ltd has been selected by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) as one of the bidders for a 600 MWp capacity package under a tender for domestically manufactured solar PV modules valued at ₹1,042 crore to be executed by December 27.
The tender covers the manufacturing, testing, packing, supply and transportation of solar PV modules using domestically manufactured solar cells.
Focus on domestic manufacturing
“The 600 MWp order is significant not only for its scale but also for what it represents for India’s renewable energy ecosystem,” Saatvik Green Energy, CEO, Prashant Mathur, said.
“It reflects the growing momentum behind domestic manufacturing and the shift towards a more integrated and self-reliant solar value chain. This is an evolution that Saatvik has been strategically building for,” he said.
Manufacturing capacity expands
Saatvik has a 4.86 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ambala.
The company is also expanding its integrated manufacturing operations in Odisha. Phase I comprises 2.4 GW of cell capacity and 4 GW of module capacity.
A further 3.6 GW of cell capacity has been proposed under Phase II.
Odisha facility supports DCR needs
“With our 4.86 GW module manufacturing facility in Ambala and our integrated manufacturing expansion in Odisha, we are building the capabilities required to participate meaningfully across the solar manufacturing value chain,” Mathur said.
“As our Odisha cell facility progresses towards ALMM List-II enlistment, we are strengthening our ability to meet evolving domestic-content requirements with greater depth and scale,” he said.
Order strengthens solar portfolio
“We see this order as more than a commercial milestone. It is a strong validation of our manufacturing strategy, our execution capabilities and our conviction in building a globally competitive, integrated solar manufacturing platform from India,” he said.
The order adds materially to Saatvik’s order book and further strengthens its position as a supplier in the utility-scale solar segment.
Supports Make In India push
The order also aligns with India’s focus on energy self-sufficiency under the Make In India initiative.
It is expected to support demand for domestically manufactured solar components and strengthen the domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
