Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd (KICL), a diversified business group, is participating for the third consecutive year as the Platinum Sponsor of the Council for Leather Exports’ ‘Soles for Souls’ Marathon in Chennai, supporting efforts to build a healthier, safer and drug-free society.
The marathon, to be held at Island Grounds, has attracted more than 10,000 student registrations. KICL will support the event through its brands Kickers and Una Villa, while also using the occasion to launch its new fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brand, Chuisip.
Marathon targets youth awareness
The event brings together students and the wider community to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage collective action towards a drug-free future.
The initiative highlights the role of education, community participation and sustained awareness in addressing substance abuse and encouraging young people to make informed choices.
To launch Chuisip brand
This year’s participation is particularly significant for KICL as it plans to introduce Chuisip during the marathon. The launch will bring the company’s brands together at an event centred on social responsibility and community welfare.
KICL Executive Chairman Jinnah Rafiq Ahmed said, “A drug-free society begins with awareness, education and collective responsibility. We must protect the dreams and potential of our youth by inspiring them to make the right choices and build a healthier future.”
KICL highlights social responsibility
“‘Soles for Souls’ is more than a marathon; it is a movement of hope and change. KICL, along with our brands Kickers, Una Villa and Chuisip, is proud to support this noble cause and contribute towards building a stronger, healthier and drug-free India,” Ahmed said.
KICL said responsible businesses have an important role to play in addressing social challenges and creating lasting community impact. Its continued association with the marathon reflects its commitment to working with industry, educational institutions and communities towards a common cause.
