Kutch Copper Ltd. (KCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd., has received certification from the London Metal Exchange (LME) for its ‘Adani Copper’ brand.
The approval enables Adani Copper cathodes to be delivered with warrants eligible for issuance against LME Copper Grade A futures contracts from July 10.
Global Recognition
The LME certification recognises KCL’s manufacturing standards and responsible sourcing practices.
The listing also places Adani Copper among the LME’s Good Delivery brands for Copper Grade A contracts, alongside leading global copper producers.
Management comment
Kutch Copper Managing Director Vinay Prakash said “Copper is the backbone of the global energy transition. Achieving LME brand status places Adani among the world’s leading copper producers and strengthens India’s role in building a resilient, responsible supply chain for this vital metal.”
Capacity Expansion
KCL’s copper smelter at Mundra in Gujarat has been built with an investment of $1.2 billion and has an annual production capacity of 0.5 million tonnes.
The company manufactures Copper Grade A cathodes and other value-added copper products for domestic and international markets.
KCL said the facility would strengthen domestic copper availability, reduce dependence on imports and support the country’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative in sectors such as electrification and renewable energy.
