CW Bureau ·

Kinetic Engineering Ltd (KEL), the flagship company of the Kinetic Group and a long-standing player in India’s automotive component sector, has received an additional ₹40 crore capital infusion from its promoter group to support its strategic transformation and expansion in the evolving mobility ecosystem.

The investment has been made through the conversion of warrants, subject to necessary approvals and applicable regulatory provisions. Following the transaction, the promoter shareholding in the company has increased to 65%, signalling stronger promoter commitment to KEL’s long-term growth strategy.

Strengthening EV and Component Capabilities

The fresh capital comes at a time when KEL  is expanding its footprint in emerging mobility technologies, including electric vehicle (EV) components, battery systems and precision engineering solutions for global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

The company has been steadily positioning itself within the changing mobility landscape, supporting both conventional automotive programs and next-generation electric mobility platforms.

KEL vice chairman & MD Ajinkya Firodia said the investment reflects strong confidence from the promoter group in the company’s future.

According to him, the automotive industry is undergoing a major shift toward electric mobility, and KEL is actively building capabilities in technology, manufacturing and innovation to participate in this transformation.

Boost from Kinetic DX EV Launch

Firodia also highlighted the strong market response to the Kinetic DX EV, recently launched by the company’s subsidiary Kinetic Watts and Volts, in which Kinetic Engineering holds an 80% stake.

The electric scooter features several patented “EASY” innovations developed by Kinetic, including Easy Charge, Easy Flip and Easy Key. It also offers a metal body construction and class-leading 37-litre under-seat storage capacity.

Powered by the Range-X LFP battery, the scooter is designed for improved safety and durability compared with conventional NMC battery systems.

Expansion Plans In EV Market

Kinetic Watts and Volts has already launched sales and service operations in cities including Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore and Delhi NCR. The company plans to expand nationwide and appoint over 150 dealers this year as it scales its presence in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market.

Supporting Long-Term Growth

The promoter infusion will also support the expansion of Kinetic Engineering’s automotive components business, which is witnessing increasing demand from both domestic and international OEMs.

With more than five decades of manufacturing expertise, Kinetic Engineering continues to supply critical components to leading automotive manufacturers while strengthening its capabilities to align with the next generation of mobility technologies.
