Bikaji Foods Invests ₹149 Cr Across Three Subsidiaries To Drive Growth

Bikaji Foods International Ltd (BFIL), which is pursuing a diversification-led growth strategy, has invested ₹149 crore across three of its subsidiaries in recent days to capitalise on emerging growth opportunities.

The leading FMCG player in the snacks and savouries segment, focuses on expanding into adjacent food service segments beyond its core FMCG business. It is also exploring opportunities across cafes, quick service restaurants, catering services, kiosks and travel-related food formats, while also investing in allied ventures to build a broader, consumer-facing food ecosystem and has Amitabh Bachchan is its brand ambassador.

Stake increase in Hazelnut Factory

On March 26, BFIL completed the second tranche of acquisition of an additional 8.59% stake in Hazelnut Factory Food Products (THF) for ₹101 crore.

With this, BFIL’s shareholding in THF has increased to 48.99%, as part of its broader strategy to build a QSR business under a House-of-Brand approach.

Expanding QSR footprint

THF operates in the bakery, patisserie and cafe segment, offering products such as desserts, breads, savouries and snacks through its outlets in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, as well as via online platforms.

The investment is expected to strengthen BFIL’s presence in the fast-growing café and experiential food segment.

Full acquisition of Petunt Food

BFIL has also completed the acquisition of the remaining 48.78% stake in Petunt Food Processors Pvt Ltd (PFPPL) for ₹8 crore, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary effective March 6, 2026.

PFPPL is engaged in the manufacturing and processing of a wide range of food products, including sweets and namkeen items, complementing BFIL’s core portfolio.

Capital infusion in retail arm

In addition, the company invested ₹40 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary Bikaji Foods Retail Ltd (BFRL) through subscription to equity shares on March 14, 2026.

BFRL is focused on expanding into new business segments such as cafés, QSRs, food chains, kiosks and catering services, supporting diversification and long-term growth.

Strengthening manufacturing base

BFIL currently operates six manufacturing facilities, including four in Bikaner and one each in Guwahati and Tumakuru in Karnataka.

The company continues to expand its product portfolio and distribution reach as it aims to scale up its presence in domestic and global markets.
