Ducati has unveiled its most extreme road-legal motorcycle yet, the Superleggera V4 Centenario. Based on the seventh generation of Ducati’s superbike platform, the model will be produced in a limited run of just 500 individually numbered units, stamping its exclusivity and engineering excellence.
First-Ever Carbon-Ceramic Braking System
The Superleggera V4 Centenario features a fully carbon-fibre chassis and marks the debut of the world’s first carbon-ceramic braking system on a road-legal motorcycle. It also introduces a fork with carbon-fibre stanchions, another industry-first innovation.
The motorcycle delivers 228 horsepower, which increases to 247 horsepower with the racing exhaust. Its lightweight engineering is equally impressive, with a wet weight of just 173 kg (without fuel), dropping further to 167 kg when equipped with the standard racing kit.
100 Exclusive Tricolore Editions
In addition to the 500 standard units, Ducati will produce 100 special Superleggera V4 Centenario Tricolore motorcycles. These limited editions commemorate a historic milestone for the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer, blending cutting-edge technology with iconic Italian design heritage.
Livery Inspired by 750 F1 Racing Legacy
The Tricolore livery pays tribute to the legendary Ducati 750 F1, one of the most iconic and rare Ducati models of the 1980s. The design reinterprets the classic racing colours in a modern aesthetic, seamlessly combining retro appeal with contemporary styling and innovation.
MotoGP-Derived Brakes and Suspension
The Superleggera V4 Centenario is the world’s first road bike equipped with carbon-ceramic brake discs approved for road use. Developed in collaboration with Brembo, the discs feature a carbon fibre-reinforced ceramic (C/SiC) core, delivering exceptional lightness, rigidity, and thermal stability.
This advanced braking system maintains peak performance even under extreme temperatures, ensuring consistent and reliable braking without the added weight of traditional metal discs.
All-Carbon Fibre Chassis
The motorcycle’s entire chassis, including the frame, swingarm, subframe, and wheel, is constructed from carbon fibre. These components are developed using technologies derived from MotoGP and Formula One, bringing prototype-level engineering to a road-legal machine.
New Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 Engine
Powering the Superleggera V4 Centenario is the newly developed Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 engine. The displacement has been increased from 998 cc to 1,103 cc by extending the stroke from 48.41 mm to 53.5 mm, resulting in enhanced performance and responsiveness.
Aerodynamics Shaped by Racing Innovation
The motorcycle’s design seamlessly integrates aesthetics and aerodynamics. Its high-efficiency wings and Corner Sidepods, derived from the Panigale V4 R, are engineered to generate downforce even at high lean angles.
First introduced by Ducati in MotoGP in 2021, the Corner Sidepods create a “ground effect” mid-corner, improving tyre grip and enabling higher cornering speeds and reduced lap times.
