Hero MotoCorp Q1 PAT Rises 29% To ₹1,454 Cr; Revenue At ₹12,999 Cr

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, with standalone profit after tax (PAT) rising 29% year-on-year to ₹1,454 crore, driven by robust demand across premium motorcycles, scooters, electric vehicles, commuter models and international markets.

The company posted revenue from operations of ₹12,999 crore for the April-June  quarter, a 36% increase from ₹9,579 crore in the corresponding period last year. EBITDA rose to ₹1,727 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 13.3%.

On a consolidated basis, revenue increased 35% year-on-year to ₹13,126 crore. Consolidated PAT stood at ₹1,418 crore, compared with ₹1,706 crore a year earlier. The company clarified that the previous year’s consolidated profit included a one-time gain of ₹722 crore arising from the dilution of its investment in associates following a public issue and private placement.

Volumes grow 23%
Hero MotoCorp sold 16.77 lakh motorcycles and scooters during the quarter, registering a 23% year-on-year growth, reflecting sustained consumer demand across domestic and overseas markets.

The company’s Parts, Accessories and Merchandising (PAM) business also delivered a strong performance, with revenue rising 30% to ₹1,689 crore.

Premium, EV and global businesses drive growth
The company’s electric mobility brand VIDA continued to gain traction, recording an impressive 151% year-on-year growth during the quarter, supported by an expanding product portfolio and wider retail presence.

Hero MotoCorp’s global business also maintained strong momentum, registering 63% year-on-year growth, aided by increasing demand for premium products and expansion across international markets.

Meanwhile, its Harley-Davidson business more than doubled, posting 105% year-on-year growth. The company expanded its Harley-Davidson retail network to 21 full-line dealerships across India, offering globally imported CBU motorcycles alongside locally manufactured X440 and X440 T models.

Flex-fuel motorcycles introduced
During the quarter, Hero MotoCorp launched flex-fuel variants of its flagship Splendor+ and HF Deluxe motorcycles. The move aligns with the Government of India’s clean mobility and energy security initiatives while strengthening the company’s sustainable mobility portfolio.

Strong momentum seen
Hero MotoCorp Chief Executive Officer Harshavardhan Chitale said the company began FY27 with strong momentum, driven by broad-based growth across premium, commuter, electric mobility and global businesses.

He said the company’s long-term strategy is focused on accelerating premiumisation, expanding electric mobility, strengthening its global footprint and retaining leadership in the commuter motorcycle segment through continued investments in technology, innovation, manufacturing and customer experience.
