EyeROV, a Kerala-based deep-tech startup, showcased its underwater drones to world leaders at the recently concluded BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Co-founder and CEO Johns T Mathai demonstrated the company’s Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) technology, highlighting applications in infrastructure inspection, defence, maritime security and scientific research.
Focus on underwater inspection
Dams, bridges, ports and offshore installations depend on structures that can be difficult to access and inspect underwater.
EyeROV develops robotic systems and intelligent subsea solutions that help operators examine underwater environments, collect data and make informed maintenance decisions.
Portfolio spans marine robotics
The company’s portfolio includes Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs).
It also develops specialised marine inspection systems and AI-driven data analytics for applications across infrastructure, energy, defence and marine research.
Startup highlights indigenous technology
“The interaction with world leaders underscores the immense potential of Indian deep-tech startups on the world stage, as we continue to push boundaries in underwater robotics, safety and infrastructure inspection,” EyeROV, Co-founder and CEO, Johns T Mathai, said.
The company said the BRICS exhibition represents a milestone in its broader ambition to become a global marine robotics company through indigenous engineering.
EyeROV eyes international markets
EyeROV said its technology is aimed at making underwater inspection and marine operations safer and more efficient.
As it expands into international markets, the company is focusing on practical applications across defence, energy, infrastructure, maritime security and marine research while contributing to the Make in India initiative.
The EyeROV pavilion was visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russia President Vladimir Putin, China President Xi Jinping, Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian, Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto and South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa.
