Jonjua Overseas Signs MoU For Private Rooftop Helipad In Himachal

Jonjua Overseas Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with entrepreneur Anjali Sharma to facilitate setting up of a private rooftop helipad near Rampur in Himachal Pradesh.

The helipad will be located near the National Highway at Rampur BSR. The project aims to improve connectivity in the remote Himalayan region and support tourism, emergency services and economic activities.

Helipad planned atop seven-storey hotel

Anjali Sharma is developing a seven-storey hotel in Rampur Bushahr, with the proposed helipad planned on the rooftop.

The development and operation of the helipad will be subject to applicable statutory, aviation, safety, environmental and local authority approvals and clearances.

Focus on remote connectivity

The MoU is aimed at facilitating better accessibility and connectivity for people in the region. The project is also expected to support tourism and emergency response requirements.

Jonjua Overseas is a pioneer in the start-up of GNS Airways, SA of Cameroon, promoted by Jean Paul Nana Sandjo, former CEO of Camair, and Jonjua Air Ltd, a start-up air taxi promoted by the Jonjua Group.

Company forms helipad team

The company has formed a two-member team comprising Jonjua Overseas Chairman-cum-Managing Director Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua (Retd) and Director Harmanpreet Singh Jonjua.

Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua, a retired military engineer, has 48 years of experience in the design and development of helipads and STOLports in remote and border areas.

He has also filed a patent for an STOLport design with Harmanpreet Singh Jonjua. The proposed design has a length of 750 metres.
