ABD Begins Commercial Operations At Moradabad Bottling Facility

CW Bureau ·

Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd (ABD), a leading spirits company, has commenced commercial operations at its bottling facility in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, with an initial capacity of six million cases a year.

The commissioning marks a key step in the company’s integrated manufacturing programme to meet the State’s growing demand for spirits.

It is also expected to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs through increased in-house bottling and savings on franchise fees.

₹110 Crore Invested In Moradabad Unit

ABD acquired the facility in January 2026 for ₹70 crore and subsequently invested another ₹40 crore in upgrading it.

The commissioning will strengthen the company’s bottling capacity in Uttar Pradesh, which is central to its growth and backward integration plans.

State Investment Exceeds ₹600 Crore

ABD has announced investments of more than ₹600 crore in Uttar Pradesh. These include the acquisition and upgradation of the Moradabad unit and the development of an integrated facility with a dual-mode distillery and additional bottling capacity.

“Backward integration is a key pillar of our strategy, enabling greater control over the value chain, improved supply chain agility and stronger cost efficiencies,” ABD, Managing Director, Amar Sinha, said.

Focus On Supply Chain Efficiencies

The Moradabad facility will support the company’s expansion in the State and provide a platform for further integration, including increased captive extra neutral alcohol (ENA) capacity.

Sinha said Uttar Pradesh’s progressive excise policy framework and conducive investment environment provided a strong foundation for the industry’s long-term growth and supported the State’s economy.
