Thermo King, a strategic brand of global climate innovator Trane Technologies, has introduced four new models in its all-electric EV series for the Asia-Pacific region — EV500S, EV500e, EV300e and EV200e.
The new range features an integrated electric drive solution designed to improve operating efficiency across urban cold-chain applications. The launch comes amid growing demand for sustainable, reliable and connected temperature-controlled transport in the region.
Models target urban cold chain
The EV500S and EV500e are designed for urban distribution of fruits and vegetables, fresh e-commerce products and pharmaceuticals.
The EV200e and EV300e target high-frequency, short-haul last-mile deliveries from urban cold-storage facilities to retail outlets.
Leaders comment
“The shift to electric vehicles is transforming urban cold chain distribution, where balancing energy efficiency and temperature stability remains critical,” Thermo King Asia Pacific, Vice-President, Helen Ling, said.
“Backed by more than a decade of electric refrigeration expertise, our new EV series marks another step forward in delivering greater energy efficiency, stronger reliability and smarter digital capabilities to customers while supporting more sustainable cold chain transport,” she said.
Intelligent temperature control
The series features ARCON intelligent control architecture, which adjusts cooling output according to changing cargo loads and maintains temperature control within ±0.5°C.
An economy (ECO) mode is also available as standard to reduce energy consumption without compromising cooling performance. This can help preserve more driving range for electric transport vehicles.
Built for demanding conditions
The EV series incorporates multi-level fault protection, intelligent adaptive defrost logic and a waterproof design to support stable operation in demanding weather and transport conditions.
Its integrated drive solution optimises the overall system layout while improving installation and maintenance efficiency. The design is also aimed at reducing total lifecycle operating costs.
iTracKing II enables remote monitoring
Thermo King is offering its next-generation iTracKing II intelligent system as an option. Powered by IP67 industrial-grade TBOX hardware, the system enables 24-hour remote monitoring of transport refrigeration units.
Through a mobile application, users can access real-time information including vehicle location, cargo-compartment temperature and unit operating status. The system also enables two-way remote control for starting and stopping units, setting temperatures and resetting alarms.
As a factory-fitted Thermo King solution, iTracKing II integrates with the company’s trailer, self-powered and vehicle-powered units without additional modification. It also supports historical data storage and customised report exports for improved management efficiency and end-to-end traceability.
